When a baby is born with Down Syndrome, or a 3-year-old contracts a debilitating disease, parents have an immediate need for support that continues for years. They need to know where to find help, how to manage the bureaucracy and how best to support their child. Our new parent center offers reading materials, a toy-lending library, computer stations and support groups.
The Parent Education & Resource Center is a family planned project creating links to other families and peers. We also provide connections through local community organizations and programs including disAbility Connections, Family Support Network, Children's Special Health Care Services, Early On, PAC & ISD, Support Groups, Ramp Project, Respite Services, Equipment Repair & Purchase, Social/Recreational Activities, Helping Friends Together Club, Camp Scholarships, the world through the Internet...and more!
